Why This Day Is Special?

๐Ÿœ World Pest Day, observed on June 6, aims to raise awareness about the critical role of pest management in protecting public health, food safety, and the environment. Established in 2017, this day emphasizes the importance of controlling pests that can spread diseases, damage property, and disrupt ecosystems.

History Behind the Day

The inaugural World Pest Day ceremony was held at the Beijing Hotel on June 6, 2017. Initiated by the Chinese Pest Control Association, the event was co-sponsored by the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers’ Association (FAOPMA), the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), and the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA). The day was established to highlight the significance of pest control in safeguarding public health and the environment.

World Pest Day Awareness at Santhi School

Today, Santhi School is actively observing World Pest Day to spread awareness about the importance of pest control and maintaining a healthy environment. The students of Santhi School are participating in informative sessions conducted by teachers and environmental experts on how pests can affect health, homes, and the environment. The principal of Santhi School addresses the students, emphasizing the need for cleanliness, hygiene, and responsible waste management to prevent pest infestations.
