30 May - National Creativity Day Celebration at Santhi School
May 30 – National Creativity Day
Why This Day Is Special?
National Creativity Day is celebrated on May 30 to honor the power of imagination and to encourage people to be creative in their everyday lives. Creativity is a valuable skill that can be used in all areas of life, from work to relationships to personal growth.A Little History
The term "creativity" has evolved over time. In ancient Greece, the word "poiein" meant "to make," and it was associated with poetry. During the Renaissance, creativity flourished in various fields, including art, science, and philosophy. In 2018, Hal Croasmun and ScreenwritingU founded National Creativity Day to celebrate the imaginative spirits everywhere and to encourage them to keep creating.Did You Know❓
- Shower time is good for us! 72% of creative insights come while people are in the shower, according to a study conducted in 2014.
- Try new things for a creative you: Dopamine in our brains, which is released when we try new things, is also linked to creative achievement.
- Sleep to be more creative: An overall health restorer, sleep also boosts creativity.
- Creative ideas have a bad history: History shows the most creative ideas have been ridiculed and mocked, like Galileo's astronomical discoveries.
- Daydreaming boosts creativity, too: A good daydreaming session can allow your mind to go into mental incubation, allowing it to sort through creative ideas and planning.
How Can We Celebrate?
Step 2: Scrapbooking - Using chalk, wood planks, and just about anything from backyard twigs to cardboard boxes, you can create an exciting obstacle course for your children to explore. Tailor the obstacle course to fit your child’s needs.
Step 4: Tie-Dye T-Shirts and Other Goodies - If your kids are particularly into drama or singing, why not put on a little show? You can film the show to share or let parents and stuffed animals be the audience.
